Hello! My name is Patricia Chica. I'm a rock chick with a camera! People call me the "one-woman band" because I create, I direct, I shoot, I cut... from idea to end product... I am a multiskilled visual artist and storyteller. Bands and clients hire me because I have a unique and provocative style, but maybe because I'm nice too!
I am an award-winning director, producer and concept writer, as well as a visual artist and artistic photographer. I presently share my time between Montreal (my hometown) and New York but I also shoot internationally. My work has been broadcasted at MTV, MuchMusic, Discovery, National Geographic, Bravo!, Oxygen and Travel Channel just to name a few as well as at numerous film festivals around the world.
A little bit more about me? I am just an average girl! I am not more talented than anyone else out there. I am just very optimistic, creative and passionate. I work harder than most people and I don't believe in the word "impossible"! I do everything for the art to the point of getting myself into trouble sometimes (LOL)! I just don't take "no" for an answer!
I am featured in the first issue of webzine
GALRILLA.com, a website dedicated to showcase female artists from around the world. I was chosen to represent Canada as a film director and I am also one of the visual contributors! Check it out!

I write and speak three languages: English, French and Spanish. Do not hesitate to contact me in any of those languages anytime. I also speak a little bit of Italian.
ARTISTIC APPROACH:
Since my directorial debut in 1990, my motivation has been to blur the line between fine art and commercial work. In the past decade I have been involved with Montreal's underground music scene as well as working professionally on various artistic projects that combine technology, alternative fashion and design and that always with a touch of sensual provocation. Driven by originality; I always try to push forward the creative boundaries of storytelling by focusing on innovative techniques for narration and daring post-production effects. However, my visual style is more than just poetic, as it is often described as gritty within a humanistic setting.
